Omaha PFLAG Grand Marshall nominees

Three Omaha PFLAG members are among the five nominees for grand marshal
of the 2004 GLBT Pride Parade.
They are Wally Bacon, Judy Hancock and D. Moritz.
Wally Bacon, professor of political science at UNO, teaches and
conducts research about the transgender community. He is writing a book on
that subject. He will speak at PFLAG's March 11 meeting.
Judy Hancock, mother of a gay son, speaks on panels sponsored by
PFLAG/GLSEN at college classes. She is on the board of River City Mixed
Chorus and co-chairs the 2004 Pride Parade Committee with her son Brian.
D. Moritz, assistant director for GLBT and Ally programs and services
at UNL. formerly headed GLSEN in Omaha and developed speakers training
programs. She received a major National Education Association award for
human rights leadership.
The other two candidates are Eric Anderson, owner of Club Joy, and
Jason Fienhold, president of Rainbow Celebrations in 2003.
